Our Mission:
Through partnerships and collaboration, support public health and medical systems to prepare for, respond to, recover from and mitigate emergencies and threats to our health. We do this by:
- Assuring an integrated and collaborative healthcare system that can accurately identify and effectively respond to emergent health threats
- Strengthening the public health system by working with federal, state, and local organizations to prepare for response to threats and emergencies
- Supporting coordinated, collaborative community response systems that are realistic and adequately tested
- Establishing a culture for continuing performance measurement and improvements
- Contributing to the development of a highly-qualified workforce dedicated to protecting the public’s health
- Allocating and distributing targeted funding for training and equipping the healthcare response system
